According to the guidelines set by CBSE Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation scheme is followed. This enables the teachers to assess the students in a holistic manner covering both scholastic and co-scholastic domains. It also strengthens the child’s perception of himself and boosts his morale.
Scholastic refers to those aspects which are related to intellect or the brain. It includes assessment through assignments, project work, practical and oral work.
Co-scholastic refers to those aspects which are related to hand and heart. These include psychomotor skills, physical development, life skills, attitude, values, interests and participation in co-curricular activities.
Assessment of these in scholastic areas is done informally using multiple techniques of evaluation continually and periodically. Some of these are conversational skills, quizzes, assignments, orals, projects, research work etc. The diagnostic evaluation takes place at the end of each term.
Assessment in co-scholastic areas is done by multiple techniques on the basis of defined criteria.
In case of poor performance appropriate intervention is followed.
