To commemorate the birth anniversary of the great mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan, LPS celebrated National Mathematics Day with great enthusiasm and active participation. A special assembly was presented by the students of Maths Club from class IX. They asked some picture based riddles and presented a Pod Cast with Srinivas Ramanujan. The assembly was concluded by a Maths RAP.<\/p>\n

Some interesting activities were also organised for the students of Classes III to VIII. The aim of the celebration was to remove fear of mathematics and help students understand mathematical concepts through hands-on activities and real-life applications. The details of activities are as follows:<\/p>\n

Class III \u2013 Making 3D Shapes with 2D Figures<\/strong><\/p>\n

This activity helped them understand the relationship between 2D and 3D shapes in a fun and creative manner.<\/p>\n

Class IV \u2013 Mathematics Tambola<\/strong><\/p>\n

The activity improved their calculation skills, attention, and quick thinking while making learning enjoyable.<\/p>\n

Class V \u2013 Creating Scenes Using Geometrical Shapes<\/strong><\/p>\n

This activity enhanced their creativity and helped them identify shapes in their surroundings.<\/p>\n

Class VI \u2013 Dividing a Given Number in a Given Ratio<\/strong><\/p>\n

Through this guided activity, they developed a better understanding of proportional reasoning and its real-life applications.<\/p>\n

Class VII \u2013 Finding Perimeter of Irregular Shapes Using Thread<\/strong><\/p>\n

Students of Class VII measured the perimeter of irregular shapes using thread. This hands-on activity made them understand measurement concepts clearly and showed how mathematics is used beyond regular shapes.<\/p>\n

Class VIII \u2013 Understanding Algebraic Identities Using Square Cut-outs<\/strong><\/p>\n

Students used square cut-outs to visually demonstrate algebraic identities such as (a+b)2<\/sup> = a2<\/sup>+2ab+b2<\/sup> .
\nThis activity made abstract algebraic concepts simple, clear and interesting.<\/p>\n

Conclusion<\/strong><\/p>\n

The celebration of Mathematics Day was a grand success. Students actively participated in all activities and learned mathematical concepts through exploration and creativity. The day truly reflected the spirit of Srinivasa Ramanujan and reinforced the idea that Mathematics is not just about numbers, but about understanding, reasoning, and enjoyment.<\/p>\n\t\t
