Zero Waste Day was celebrated at Lions Public School for classes Nursery to II. It was a great success.
Students did not bring any foil, butter paper, or plastic in their tiffins. They brought food in cloth napkins, helping to reduce waste.
During fruit time, fruit peels were collected in a pit to make compost.
Students learned that these are not waste and can be used as natural fertilizer for plants.
Students also showed creativity by making paper bags from newspapers and creating pictures using pencil shavings.
This was the first time organized at the school, and the response was very positive. Students learned an important message
— Nothing is waste. Many things can be reused and recycled.
