Lions Public School, Sec-10A, Gurugram celebrated India’s 80th Independence Day with great zeal and patriotic fervour on 15th August 2026. The Chief Guest, Lion Vijay Budhiraja, Guest of Honour, Lion A. K. Bahl, Presiding Officer, Lion D. V. Taneja, Chairman of the school, Lion Bhim Vasudev, Vice Chairman of the school, Dr. Abhishek Gupta, Secretary, Lions Club, Gurgaon City , Lion Amitabh Gupta, President Lions Club, Gurgaon City, Dr. Ajay Arora, Treasurer, Lions Club, Gurgaon City, and esteemed Lions dignitaries, PTA President Mr Kamaljeet Virmani  and PTA member Ms.Versha, added warmth and prestige to the celebration with their presence.

The distinguished guests were welcomed on the beats of the school band. The programme began with the ceremonial hoisting of the Tricolour, followed by a perfectly synchronised march past that set the tone of pride and discipline. Students then showcased their prowess through impressive dumble PT, aerobics and graceful skating displays.

The cultural segment began with a soulful welcome song ‘Vande Mataram’ followed by a formal welcome by the Principal, Ms. Dipinder Kaur. In her inspiring address she emphasised the freedom comes with responsibilities and we should fulfil our duties before demanding rights as every small step taken with dedication contributes towards building a ‘Viksit Bahart’. The tiny tots of classes I & II then presented ‘Jayatu Bharatam’ a vibrant dance celebrating the spirit of India. Students of classes III to V enthralled the audience with ‘Echoes of Our Roots’, a colourful folk dance presentation showcasing India’s rich culture and heritage. The celebration also witnessed the release of the school newsletter FOCUS 2026 by Lion Amitabh Gupta, President Lions Club, Gurgaon City.

The Chief Guest moved the gathering with his stirring address and inspired the students to let their imaginations soar high; reminding them that sky is not the limit. He emphasised that by harnessing technology with vision and responsibility, we can move confidently towards the path of progress and development. The Presiding Officer, Lion D. V. Taneja, Chairman, LPS, in his address urged everyone to retrospect if we are truly fulfilling our duties towards the vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’. He emphasised that ‘Bharat Mahan’ should not remain merely a slogan but become our true identity through responsible actions, adopting sustainable practices and saying no to plastic.

The school orchestra added a melodious touch to the occasion with a captivating musical presentation. The Vice Principal, Dr. Monika Lakra proposed the vote of thanks.The programme concluded with an electrifying Finale Dance-‘Matri Bhoomi Ke Gaurav’ leaving the audience mesmerised.

The celebration was a vibrant tapestry of pride, unity, and patriotism — a day to remember and cherish.
