On 30 June 2026, Lions Public School organised an insightful session titled “Beyond Labels” for the teaching staff. The session was conducted by Counsellor Suman Wadhavan and her team with the objective of encouraging educators to move beyond stereotypes, recognise the uniqueness of every individual, and strengthen the values of empathy, inclusion, and mutual respect within the school community.
Through engaging discussions and practical examples, the resource team highlighted how labels and preconceived notions can influence our perceptions and interactions, especially in the classroom. The session covered important topics such as Psychological First Aid (PFA), understanding the 5Ds, awareness about Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and adopting an inclusive approach while identifying and supporting students in need. The programme equipped teachers with practical strategies to respond sensitively and effectively to the diverse emotional, behavioural, and learning needs of students.
The programme emphasised the importance of treating every learner as an individual with unique strengths, abilities, and potential. It inspired the staff to create a positive and supportive learning environment where every child feels respected, valued, and encouraged to grow with confidence.
